The construction of the project
The content of the project
The participation of the Community of Communes of the Guebwiller Region in the Cities and Countries of Art and History network involves an active process of knowledge, conservation and mediation around heritage. The territory encourages architectural creation while respecting the living environment.
The project tends to bring together all the associations and structures whose main mission is to promote local heritage.
The main objective of the Pays d'art et d'histoire convention is to promote heritage. In this sense, various actions are carried out during the year: thematic visits, exhibitions, publication of brochures, participation in national events such as Heritage Days, Rendez-vous aux Jardins, etc. Various school and extracurricular actions have been set up: educational workshops, heritage rally, youth workcamp, treasure hunts, etc.
ADVANTAGES OF THE LABEL
- The territory benefits from an image recognized by the public and ensuring quality cultural tourism.
- The cultural development strategy is based on local know-how and on the territory's identity, which gives it a certain originality.
- Through the label, the Community of Communes undertakes to carry out actions to raise awareness among inhabitants of their heritage and to carry out various actions with the aim of highlighting the elements of this heritage.
A heritage facilitator
Following the signing of the agreement with the Ministry of Culture in February 2005, an architecture and heritage coordinator was recruited in February 2007. This recruitment is part of the Pays d'art et story. The heritage facilitator is responsible for bringing the label to life, through the creation of a Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage (CIAP) and the implementation of a program of events and awareness-raising for public (exhibitions, guided tours, events for schools, etc.). All this, in collaboration with the territory's museums and various cultural associations and structures, various cultural activities and events are implemented, intended as much for schoolchildren as for tourists and other heritage enthusiasts.
