Viva is a video work which follows a botanist from the Basel Herbarium, between ancient herbaria and the observation of plants in their natural environment. The preserved specimens are juxtaposed with the study of living plants, exposed to the variations of time and environment. The film occupies this space between preservation and presence, and subtly prompts reflection: What do these traces tell us about the evolution of life?
